BS3998 work, no topping, no salesy upsell.

Branchard's tree surgery side covers everything from a simple deadwood prune through to full sectional dismantle of a mature oak over a house. Our climbers hold NPTC CS30, CS31, CS38 and CS39 certifications, we work to the British Standard for tree work (BS3998), and we carry £5m public liability insurance with documentation available on request before work starts.

Across Rugby (CV21/CV22/CV23) and the surrounding villages (Dunchurch, Hillmorton, Bilton, Cawston, Thurlaston), we know which streets sit inside a Conservation Area, where TPO frequency is highest and which lanes will and won't take a chipper. That local knowledge keeps quotes accurate and timelines honest.

We don't top trees. We won't talk you into a removal when a reduction would solve the problem. We'll write a clear, itemised quote, manage any TPO or Conservation Area paperwork on your behalf, and clear all arisings on completion.

Tree surgery, village by village

Rugby borough has wildly different tree-work patterns across its villages: Conservation Areas in Dunchurch, mature 1930s gardens in Hillmorton, mixed canopy in Bilton. We've broken down what we see most in each.

What our Rugby customers say

5 stars across 12 reviews from homeowners across CV21/22/23.

★★★★★
"We had a huge sycamore overhanging our extension and the lads handled it sectionally without a scratch on the new windows. Tidy, fast, properly insured. Exactly what we needed."

"Branchard quoted three other firms out the water, and the work was finer detail too. Closeboard fence on a sloping side return, perfectly stepped panels, concrete posts. Thank you."

"Storm took the top off our ash and they were out the next morning to make it safe. Wrote up a clear report for our insurance and finished the removal a week later. First-class."

Tree surgery questions

Are you fully insured to work on my trees?
Yes. We hold £5m public liability insurance and our climbers carry NPTC certifications (CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39). Documentation is available on request before any work starts.
Will you check whether my tree has a TPO?
Yes. We check Rugby Borough Council's TPO register and Conservation Area status as part of every quote. If consent is needed, we manage the application on your behalf.
Do you handle storm-damaged tree emergencies?
Yes. We triage emergency callouts across Rugby, Dunchurch, Hillmorton, Bilton, Cawston and the surrounding villages, usually responding within hours. Always call the DNO (105) first if power lines are involved.
What standards do you prune trees to?
All our crown work follows BS3998, the British Standard for tree work, with cuts at the branch collar and proportional reductions that respect tree biology. We don't top trees.
Do you cover my village?
We cover Rugby (CV21/CV22/CV23) and the surrounding villages including Dunchurch, Thurlaston, Hillmorton, Bilton, Cawston, Abbots Farm and Bilton Grange. If you're nearby, give us a call.
Is stump removal included in tree removal?
Not by default. Stump grinding is usually a separate £80–£300 add-on depending on size and access. We'll quote both options up-front so you can decide.
